Dr. Collins brings more than 20 years experience working with children, teenagers and families. Trained as a teacher in his native Australia, Dr. Collins taught High School in Sydney and Toronto, before undertaking graduate studies in psychology, gaining his Ph. D. from the University of Toronto in 1984. He resigned his position as Psychologist Consultant to the Adolescent Service at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre to devote himself to fulltime private practice. He undertook further intensive training with the Toronto Child Psychoanalytic Program, graduating in 1996. An avid film buff, Dr. Collins has recently joined the faculty of the Cinema and Psychoanalysis Extension Program with the Toronto Institute of Psychoanalysis.
