Intellectual Disability (ID) involves global impairment in general cognitive functioning or reasoning that impact adaptive functioning. Various types of standardized psychological tests are used during the assessment of intellectual disabilities (formerly “mental retardation”). These tests include intelligence (IQ), learning abilities, and adaptive behavioural skills across three domains of everyday functioning (practical, social and conceptual skills).
